Dinner Roll

                                                             Sweet Dinner Roll

Ingredients:

1/2 c warm water           1/2 c warm milk       1 egg  

1/3 c butter, soft            1/3 c caster sugar     1 tsp salt

3 3/4 C all- purpose flour  2 1/4 tsp    

Preparation:

1. Dissolve yeast and 1 T sugar in warm water. Set aside for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, warm the milk in a saucepan until it  bubbles. Remove from heat, stir in sugar, butter until melted and cool to lukewarm.

2. In a large bowl, combine yeast mixture, milk mixture and egg. Stir in flour a little at a time and knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until double in bulk. Punch down dough and then roll out.

3.Divide into small portions. Form a ball or croissant style. Grease a baking sheet and arrange the dough.

4. Proof for 30 minutes. Brush with eggwash or slightly glaze with milk. Bake at 190 deg. celsius for 12 minutes or light  brown.
